Rosacea is a condition affecting the skin on the face, especially the area where people blush. Rosacea usually starts with redness on the cheeks and can slowly worsen to include one or more additional symptoms and areas, also the eyes. Changes are gradual, and it could be hard to recognize it in the early stages.
Unfortunately, many people mistake rosacea for sunburn, a change of complexion or acne, and they don t consult a doctor. Rosacea cannot be cured, but controlled. The first signs of rosacea look like a blush or sunburn (when a lot of blood rushes to the blood vessels just under the skin, and the vessels expand to handle the flow).
Redness gradually becomes more noticeable and won t disappear.
